Atlassian: From University Friends to Global Tech Giants

In 2002, two university friends, Mike Cannon-Brookes and Scott Farquhar, started Atlassian in Sydney with a $10,000 credit card debt. Their goal was to create software tools that would help teams collaborate more effectively. Their flagship product, Jira, quickly became popular among developers for tracking bugs and managing projects.

Atlassian's commitment to innovation and its strong company culture have driven its success. The company now offers a suite of products used by over 180,000 customers worldwide, including giants like NASA, Tesla, and Airbnb. Atlassian went public in 2015, and its market capitalization has since soared to over $50 billion.
